Massachusetts Legion Nursing Scholarship
This scholarship provides financial assistance to the children of members of the American Legion in Massachusetts who are pursuing a nursing degree.
Amount Awarded: $1,000
Number Awarded: 1 each year
Duration: 1 year
Deadline: March of each year
Eligibility
Candidates must be children and grandchildren of current members in good standing in the Massachusetts American Legion, be under the age of 22, be entering their first year of college, be in financial need, and plan to study nursing.

Hebrew SeniorLife Gerontological Nursing Scholarship
This scholarship is sponsored by Hebrew SeniorLife and covers tuition and fees for up to three undergraduate nursing students in their junior year at UMASS-Boston.
Amount Awarded: 100% of tuition and fees for two years
Number Awarded: up to three
Duration: two years
Deadline: April 30th
Eligibility
- must be a junior or senior attending classes full-time at UMass-Boston
- must have completed the course NU 226
- must agree to a two-year employment commitment at Hebrew SeniorLife after graduation
- must have a competitive GPA and excel in clinical practice
- must have proven an interest in gerontological nursing by doing community service, being employed in the field, or though faculty recommendations
- must demonstrate financial need by filling out a FAFSA

Massachusetts Nurses Foundation (MNA) – Kate Maker Scholarship
The scholarship is awarded to a student pursuing an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in nursing in memory of former member of the board of directors, Kate Maker, RN.
Amount Awarded: $2,500
Number Awarded: one
Duration: one year
Deadline: June 1st
Eligibility
- must be a first-time nursing student
- must be the child of an active MNA member in good standing
- must provide a letter of acceptance from an accredited nursing program recognized by the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Nursing.

- Provide two references: one from an educational professional and one from an adult acquaintance such as an employer, neighbor, or music instructor.

- Describe your current activities and achievements, and any other information that will support the application.

Edward S. Moss Memorial Scholarship
This memorial scholarship was established to provide financial assistance to a current Cooley Dickinson employee pursuing a degree in nursing.
Amount Awarded: $500
Number Awarded: one
Duration: one year
Deadline: May 15th
Eligibility
- must be a paid or volunteer employee of Cooley Dickinson hospital
- must be accepted or currently enrolled full-time in an accredited school of nursing working to complete an associate’s degree, a three-year diploma, a bachelor’s degree, or a Master’s degree in nursing.

This scholarship is sponsored by the Dr. Thomas P. and Edwina H. Devlin Medical Scholarship Fund and provides financial assistance for tuition, books, and related equipment to students pursuing a degree in the field of nursing.
Amount Awarded: $500 to $4,000
Number Awarded: up to ten
Duration: one year
Deadline: June 1st
Eligibility
- Must be a resident of one of the following towns: Melrose, North Reading, Reading, Stoneham, Wakefield, Wilmington, Winchester and Woburn
- Must be accepted at an accredited medical or nursing school
